In Solidarity with Moviment Graffitti
GWU Youths
together with Labour Youth Forum, ADZ – Green Youth, and Zminijietna Left Youth
are expressing their solidarity towards Moviment Graffitti in view of the
fact that the University’s Students Council (KSU) wants to evict Graffitti from
its University campus office. More so, it wants to renounce their right to vote
in the Socio-Political Committee (KPS).
The
organizations stated that “this is an act of bigotry from the KSU, being led by
the Christian-Democrats (SDM). It was a board presided by the same KSU which
confirmed that Graffitti is the most active organization on Campus. In fact
Graffitti scored the highest points in a report that every organization has to
hand to KSU each year, including all the activities held. Rooms in Students
House are chosen according to these classifications. KPS chose not to inform
Graffitti regarding the meeting that was to be held for the organizations to choose
their room. This clearly shows the plan that was already designed by the
Christian-Democrats in order to evict Graffitti from their room.”
The
organizations believe that “KSU should be the tool by which all the different
students’ voices in University can be guaranteed to be heard and given the
resources they necessitate, instead of using anachronistic tactics to hinder
their abilities.” The organizations ended up their statement by saying that “as
Progressive and Leftist organizations we are going to offer constant support to
Graffitti until KSU provides them with the necessary office in Students House
and also full representation on the Socio-Political Committee.”
